Who I am
I graduated from Samford University in May 2005 where I received a Bachelor of Science in Fine Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design from the Howard College of Arts and Sciences.
My husband and I have been together nearly 14 years and we have two precious little boys and a shih tzu girl. I'm blessed to finally be a stay-at-home / work-from-home mama! Of course, I stay very busy with the wild little guys, but designing from home also allows me to have unique flexibility when working with my clients.
From the time I was a small child, I have always said, "I'm going to be an artist when I grow up!" Whether I was drawing, painting, decorating clothes or constructing miniature towns, anything creative was for me! As a child I won a variety of kids' art contests, took classes at art museums in Ohio and Massachusetts and attended creative arts camps. Art was and has always been a big part of my life.
Education and Training
As a highschooler I took as many art classes as I could. I was on the yearbook staff for 3 years, where I served as a senior editor and was also an active member of the Art Club (voted Club Favorite and WRHS Miss Pioneer as a senior). During these years I was introduced to Computer Graphics! I began designing calendars, notepads, and even started up my personal website. I was hooked!
During my 4 years at Samford University, I took a variety of fine art and graphic design classes in addition to my liberal arts curriculum. I was once voted "Most Artistic" in my sorority, I volunteered at the Huntsville Museum of Art and I began taking in some freelance jobs.
After graduating from college, I worked at a frame shop for a year and gained a unique set of skills including the art of custom matting and framing. I then went on to spend over 5 years working at a private country club where, in addition to a variety of other responsibilities, I served as the club's Graphic Designer and Director of Communications. All this time I also continued graphic design and studio art as a freelancer.
As I continue my life as an artist, I look forward to working with a variety of clients and participating in exciting, new projects! Art is my passion, and I take designing very seriously, while always enjoying what I do!
I would be delighted if you considered me for your next project.
